High Pressure Grinding Rolls

HPGR technology is an advanced solution that offers high efficiency in large capacity grinding circuits. The technology operates on the principle of compressing a bed of material between two counter rotating rolls under high pressure applied across the gap. With the particle to particle breakage mechanism unique to HPGRs, the material is comminuted within a highly compacted bed without direct contact with the roll surfaces. An additional advantage is that the feed size can be smaller compared to conventional crushing equipment. The high pressure applied during operation creates micro cracks within the particles, enhancing mineral liberation and increasing the proportion of fine product. In leaching applications, ores processed in an HPGR exhibit superior performance, as the micro cracks improve the permeable surface area available for leach solutions. Türkiye’s first domestically manufactured HPGR is produced by ERSEL, the pioneer of many technological firsts in the industry.
