Double Roller Crusher The Double Roller Crusher is a highly adaptable crushing solution that can be customized to meet specific customer requirements. By applying different rotational speeds to the rollers, the material is crushed not only by compressive forces but also through a combination of shear and tensile stresses. This principle ensures efficient size reduction, especially for plastic and difficult-to-crush materials. The rollers rotate in opposite directions, allowing the material to pass through the adjustable gap between two toothed rolls. Different speeds are applied to achieve the optimal crushing position of boulders. For plastic materials, this system provides improved compressive strength and enhanced tensile and shear stress performance. The peripheral speed of the rollers is relatively low, ranging between 1.5 and 3 m/s, compared to impact crushers that operate above 15 m/s. Due to the low roller speed and non-impact crushing principle, the production of fines is limited. Fine material passes through the crusher without being re-crushed, reducing energy consumption. Additionally, the low operating speed results in reduced wear on the rolls and extended service life. Crushing reduction ratios can reach up to 1:10. Body The crusher features a robust frame structure designed to withstand high impact and vibration loads. A maintenance cover located on the side of the machine allows easy access for inspection and servicing operations. Crusher Rolls The rolls are manufactured by assembling fully machined steel discs. This design enhances the overall mechanical strength of the machine and increases system inertia due to the mass of the rolls, resulting in more efficient and stable crushing performance. Teeth The teeth are an integral part of the rolls and provide a powerful crushing surface. They are protected with wear-resistant welding. The number, positioning, shape, and thickness of the teeth are specially engineered according to the material characteristics and the required input and output specifications. Sizer Drive System The rotational movement of the rolls is driven by two independent motor groups, one for each rotor. Each group consists of an electric motor, a coupling, and a planetary gearbox. This configuration ensures reliable, synchronized, and balanced drive performance. Scrapers Scrapers are essential for processing sticky materials efficiently. Their special design and positioning keep the spaces between the teeth clean, ensuring smooth material flow and minimizing wear. Adjustable scrapers extending along the entire length of each roll provide easy maintenance and cleaning. Crusher Drive System The machine is powered by two electric motors connected to a pulley system with V-belts. Each motor is mounted on a solid base and equipped with a sliding mechanism for belt tension adjustment. This design guarantees reliable power transmission and long-term operational stability. Special Design – Spring Mechanism One of the rotor bearings is mounted on a spring-loaded system. In the event that extremely hard material or uncrushable foreign objects enter the crusher, this mechanism allows controlled rotor movement, protecting the machine from potential damage and ensuring operational safety.
