Dewatering Screen

Dewatering screens are specialized vibrating screens used in sand washing and screening plants to reduce the high moisture content of washed sand and to obtain relatively dry material. They also contribute to the removal of fine organic impurities present within the sand. Unlike conventional vibrating screens, dewatering screens operate at a reverse incline. After the washing process, sand typically contains approximately 20% moisture, which can create operational and transportation challenges. Allowing the water to drain naturally may require long waiting periods. Dewatering screens perform this process quickly and efficiently. In CSB dewatering screens, the sand to be dewatered is conveyed upward on a polyurethane-lined screen surface inclined at approximately 5 degrees. The upward movement is generated by the vibration of two electric motors. During this process, water is left behind as the material advances. Water and dissolved organic fibers pass through the openings of the polyurethane screen panels and are separated from the sand. As a result, material with significantly reduced moisture content is obtained, making it suitable for storage and transportation. Additionally, the water collected beneath the screen is recovered and recirculated back into the washing system, improving overall plant efficiency and supporting water conservation.
