EMBS ELECTROMAGNETIC OVERBAND METAL SEPARATORS

Application Area Suitable for all types of conveyor line applications. Working Principle EMBS units are installed above conveyor belts to remove ferromagnetic metal contaminants from conveyed material. As the material moves along the conveyor, ferrous particles are attracted by the strong magnetic field and lifted out of the flow. These particles are then discharged at a designated point by the rotating separator belt, ensuring material purity and preventing damage to downstream equipment. In metal recovery operations, EMBS units can also be used in reverse to extract valuable metals. Modern EMBS models from BAS do not include a transformer unit, making the control panel more compact, the equipment more efficient, and significantly reducing the risk of overheating compared to other electromagnetic separators. Standard BAS EMBS separators also do not include an expansion tank in their oil-cooled versions, allowing for easier installation in tight or limited spaces. The BAS EMBS series can be configured for both inline and crossbelt applications and supports suspension heights between 350 mm and 1,000 mm. Standard models are available for belt widths up to 2,000 mm, but custom designs can be manufactured to fit specific conveyor widths and lengths as needed.
