Özdemir Antimuan Madenleri A.Ş. is a deep-rooted company founded in 1933 with a concession granted to Ahmet Ragıp Özdemiroğlu. As Turkey’s first private mine, its site in Turhal was registered with maps personally signed by Atatürk. Starting operations in 1934, the mine was managed by Etibank between 1945-1953 due to WWII policies before returning to the family. Despite a hiatus in the 1980s, it was reactivated in 1997 and later joined Koza Holding. Antimony is a strategic material used in automotive batteries, defense, electronics, and as a flame retardant in plastics. Today, operating under Türk Altın Holding, the company remains a symbol of industrial continuity. By producing high-purity compounds in modern facilities, it bridges Turkey’s rich history with global strategic needs, contributing significantly to the national economy and the defense sector. This legacy of three generations stands as a testament to the pioneering entrepreneurial spirit of the early Republic.
