Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Department of Mining Engineering has been conducting educational activities within the Faculty of Engineering since 1991. The department consists of Mining Operations, Ore Preparation, and Mining Mechanization and Technology Departments. With advanced laboratory facilities, it provides a modern and world-standard education opportunity since the 2000s. Since 1999, the quota for formal education has been increased to bring it to the level of international competition. Thus, the department aims to educate its students in accordance with national and international standards with a young academic staff and an education plan and curriculum suitable for today s conditions. Infrastructure facilities such as laboratories and libraries are continuously updated and improved. The department follows a more practical-oriented education model and aims to educate its students to meet the needs of the industry. In this context, students are encouraged to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, and laboratory facilities are used for this purpose. Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Department of Mining Engineering has a continuously evolving structure and conducts its educational activities in line with the requirements of the era.
