MARIFLEX® LS1 is applied using a metering pump and a mixing gun. The mixing of resin and catalyst, in a volume ratio of 4 to 1, produces an immediate foaming reaction, followed by a rapid expansion of the product to as much as 50 time its original volume. After expansion MARIFLEX® LS1 sets hard in a few minutes.

Ventilation control is particularly critical in coal mining to prevent outgasing and heating events in old workings. Rocsil® Foam and Mariflex® can be used to: Seal old works/goaf Seal entrances to isolate an area exposed toheating, or on fire. Rocsil® Foam and Mariflex® can be applied from a distance, including from the surface, safely creating a foam plug with up to a 50 PSI overload rating.

Marithan® N / Maristop® A Underground water revenues can often be pumped out, but in certain cases the flow needs to be isolated by creating a watertight grouting barrier. There are two grouting techniques for dealing with water: PLUGGING This injection technique is applied to prevent and stop flooding that makes it impossible to make progress in the work area. The aim is not to stop the water revenue completely, but to reduce it as much as possible so that the operation can continue. This requires the use of very fast reacting injection technologies. Polyurethane injection products such as Marithan® (E or N2294) and Maristop® (A or F) are water sensitive. This means they expand to block waterways and form a waterproof barrier. INSULATION This injection technique is applied to seal all cracks and other geological discontinuities where water can flow. The aim of this application method is to completely stop the flow of water. Sealing requires the use of low expansion products such as Marithan® N or non-expanding products such as Marisil® E.

Targeted ground Injection Polyurethane (Marithan®) and ureaurea-silicate (Marisil®) resins have been designed as a performant alternative for ground consolidation where cementitious grouts do not perform. Advantages include migration into fine cracks and fissures, ability to work in water bearing strata, early bearing capacity, local and targeted injections and controlled setting times. Marithan®N / Marisil® E Roof and face consolidation Polyurethane (Marithan®) and ureaurea-silicate (Marisil®) resins perform in consolidation of fractured strata and are commonly used for consolidation in longwall (LW) mining operations. Marithan®and Marisil® feature low viscosity, fast setting times, and excellent bonding properties. Marithan® and Marisil® also feature low exotherms and high fire resistance, meeting the most stringent safety requirements for coal mining.

Potentia® Thixo (Marisil® Thixo) is a two component pumpable resins for the anchoring of rockbolts and cable bolts. This is the latest technology for grouting bolts and cables, enabling a fully automated bolt installation. Unlike resin cartridges, pumpable resin ensures full column encapsulation regardless of the hole size. Boreholes can be pre-grouted, followed by the insertion of a solid bar rockbolt/cable, or post-grouted using a pumpable rockbolt. Setting times and thixotropy are tailored to the site conditions, taking the length of the bolts/cables and the temperature on site into account. The product is non-foaming and can adhere to damp surfaces (unaffected by water). Potentia® Thixo application modules are on board Epiroc s Boltec and Cabletec rigs or can be retrofitted on any other bolter rig. The products transmitted through the pumps are mixed with the mixing gun and the application is carried out safely.
